With God's help, I can say no to that ice cream...
Finding our strength or willpower to say, no, can sometimes seem like a never ending slapping of our hands. However, when we read God's word and see what His will for our life is, we are powered with a strong will that surpasses all understanding.
When we acknowledge God in ALL we do. Be it, cleaning the house (anybody who knows me well, knows that this is an area that I'm seeking His wisdom and strength in...because, sista, I can't crack the clean code all on my own. Ha), a well thought out schedule, family time together, exercising, or eating nutritious meals. With God at the forefront of our minds, we run everything by Him. Seeking His face ALWAYS. This isn't an impossible task. He wouldn't ever tell us to do something that we couldn't do. That'd be a cruel thing to do...and God is love. Everything good comes from Him.
So, I ask you to say, "Hi" to God today. Chat with Him. Read a chapter or a few verses in His Word daily. You will grow closer to Him as you learn the beat of His heart. He's there right beside you. He's in you, providing strength in whatever you're striving to achieve today. Even if it's as simple as not eating that ice cream. The fact is, the struggle isn't to tell ourselves, no. It's saying, yes, to God's grace and goodness. Yes, to His peace and strength. Thank God for that ice cream...and then share it...and see Gods joy work through you...reaching others.
